Puppy PreSchool

To help pups grow into confident, sociable and well-behaved dogs, and of equal importance, to help owners improve their relationship with their pups and give them the best possible start through learning to understand and responsibly manage their behaviour. You can start puppy training between the ages of 8 weeks and 1 Year, although we urge you not to leave it until 1 Year. As long as your puppy has had the necessary vaccinations, you can start training. The earlier the better. Our classes are strongly focused on basic obedience and socialisation skills.

Basic Training

Training is an essential part of owning a dog and can be started at any age. Training builds confidence, provides mental stimulation and strengthens the human-animal bond. Dogs are always learning. It is never too late to start training. The Key to all Basic Training is:

  • #1. Get to know your dog.

  • #2. Make it an enjoyable experience.

  • #3. Consistency is vital to your training success.

  • #4. Learn when to call it a day.

  • #5. Avoid punishing your dog at all costs!

Anxiety and Behavioural issues

Dogs with Social Anxiety, Separation Anxiety and any behavioural issues like barking when the doorbell rings are easily trainable traits. Repeated exposure and rewarding positive behaviour can go a long way toward managing these behaviours .

Aggressive and Reactive Behaviour

A reactive dog is usually a fearful dog. Causes can be genetic, but they are more likely due to a lack of socialisation, prior bad experiences or a lack of training. Aggressive dogs show similar signs but are determined to cause harm and destruction. With monitored exposure and training these behaviours are easily trained
